Ottawa Citizen columnist guest speaker
at November meeting of writer’s group

Charles Gordon, an Ottawa Citizen columnist, will be the guest speaker at the Wednesday, November 28,  general membership meeting of the Ottawa Independent Writers.

He will speak about column writing and his experiences teaching journalism in Rwanda.

For more than 40 years Mr. Gordon has been writing columns, editorials and features for newspapers and magazines. He has also written six books, three of them short-listed for the Leacock Medal for Humour.

He recently returned from two months of teaching opinion writing  to journalism students in Rwanda. He will talk about what he told  them and what he learned from them.

The meeting will be held in Room 156 at The National Library and Archives, 395 Wellington Street. Many choose to gather at 6:30pm to socialize and handle administrative matters, but the actual program begins at 7 p.m.

The entry fee for guests and non-members is only $10, and this amount is discounted from the membership fee should you decide to join.
