To our loyal readers, please be advised that because of thin finances the editorial side of your favourite on-line news and analysis magazine had to shut down for the month of August. We had been planning to resume publishing Friday, September 5, 2008, but now, because I require a major hip operation that will require about eight hours on the table, that date must be postponed to Friday, September 19.  The following exchange between me and my family doctor’s office explains how I got my appointment advanced, and below that the fascinating stories that we’re working on. — 841 words.
