Three Special Editions to satisfy your intellectual craving

This week True North Perspective has published three Special Editions to highlight comment on significant developments that affect us all. This is the third Special Edition.

Fidel Castro on Fidel Castro

Today, Thursday, July 24, 2008, our final Special Edition of the week features a review of a new book entitled My Life (Scribner $40) that provides a unique look at Fidel Castro the man and of the development of modern Cuba from the inside out. The book is distilled from more than a hundred hours of conversations with Le Monde diplomatique editor Ignacio Ramonet, There can be no doubt that Fidel, as he’s popularly known at home and abroad, has transformed the economics and politics of especially Central and South America and in so doing is having a growing impact on these developments in North America.

Please take time to read Fidel Castro on Fidel Castro and, in case you’ve missed them, the First and Second of this week’s Special Editions.

The first was an interview with Congressman Dennis Kucinich by Maya Schenwar, an editor and reporter for truthout, a sister publication based in the United States. Congressman Kucinich introduced a new article of impeachment against President George W. Bush in the House of Representatives last Thursday.

In a single, pointed resolution, Congressman Kucinich charged the president with lying to Congress about the presence of weapons of mass destruction (WMDs) in Iraq, in order to obtain permission for a U.S. attack.

The interview by Maya Schenwar has been videoed. A must for anyone seriously interested in understanding the villainous action that has led to the world crisis we now face, the tens of thousands of dead and dying, the economic disaster. To his ever-lasting credit Congressman Kucinich explains his reasons for impeachment in a calm and informative manner.

His approach and determination and his proposals for world peace and prosperity inspire hope for the future.

Yesterday, Wednesday, July 23, 2008, in our second Special Edition we brought you the considered opinion of one of the world’s top investment analysts, Martin D. Weiss. A signal tribute to Dr. Weiss and his company of research analysts is that though they are devoted to the energy and practice of capitalism they are ruthlessly objective. For years, dismayed at the narrow focus of the Bush regime, they have been crying alarm and have made accurate predictions that have unfortunately come to pass. In this Special Edition we bring you the mid-year analysis of the American economy with an eye on the rest of the world by Martin D. Weiss that penetrates Washington’s smoke and mirrors.

All three are substantial contributions that will be intellectually enriching.

Looking forward
